A race to enhance the territory and its gastronomic excellence
The "MONS TOUR by Chef Chris Oberhammer, a project conceived by the 1 Michelin-starred chef, has reached its second edition, attracting media attention beyond expectations; a success that, needless to say, is the result of teamwork aimed at discovering all the excellences of the territory of Dobbiaco, a town in the autonomous province of Bolzano in Trentino-Alto Adige.
A race, in 4 stages of 4 days each in South Tyrol, Trentino and Lombardy between June, July, September and October, to tell the story of territories, people, local traditions and regional gastronomy in the name of territorial sustainability and respect for the environment.
Mons simply means 'living the mountain'; getting to know its peaks and its territory. Experiencing the mountain means being totally immersed in its beauty: sight, smell, hearing and taste are satisfied. But the imagination is also nourished. The greenness of the summer season, moreover, gives a relaxation that you do not expect; because Mons makes you rediscover yourself. The MONS TOUR by Chef Chris Oberhammer, in short, is a journey of discovery and re-discovery, for a full immersion that enhances local territories, cultures and traditions.
After the great success of the first edition, which took place in 2022, where in 9 days the chef covered about 350 km from the Dolomites to Lake Garda, Chris Oberhammer is back with a new exciting adventure, running through and flanked by a logistics and communication team, territories and landscapes. A live experience in nature in which four-handed dinners, food & wine tasting and water tasting took place.
Many chefs were involved, including Graziano Prest of the Tilia restaurant and Ria De Saco The concept chalet on the slopes of Cortina d'Ampezzo owned by the Kraler family. Among the local companies that decided to support Chef Oberhammer in person were: FRANZ KRALER multibrand stores in Dobbiaco, Cortina d'Ampezzo and Bolzano, Mercedes-Benz autoindustrial, 3 ZINNEN DOLOMITES and ROTER HAHN-GALLO ROSSO
The last stage, scheduled from 6 to 8 October, will also welcome the 10th edition of the DOLOMITI GOURMET FESTIVAL, which will host Italian and international starred chefs in the Dolomites, bringing to the table the excellence of the territory in a rich programme punctuated by high-altitude activities, gourmet dinners, experiences with local producers, and the discovery of the scenic natural landscapes of the entire district.
