The Story of Franz Kraler

A LOVE STORY

A LOVE STORY

A dream that began at mass on a chilly Sunday, crowned by a wedding, a much-wanted and loved child, and a castle with 46 showcases illuminated even at night, where the most beautiful names in international fashion reside. It happens in 1984 in Dobbiaco, a village in South Tyrol at an altitude of 1200 meters, where love is born between Daniela Olivieri and Franz Kraler. The great love.

It was 1986. The Kraler family palace, 'the castle' as the locals still call it today, changed its appearance for the first time and hosted our first twelve shop windows on the ground floor. Casa Kraler, purchased in 1978, was built in 1903 as an annex of the Grand Hotel Dobbiaco, the summer residence of Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria. In its stables, during recent renovation and expansion works, sketches of some dresses made for Elisabeth of Wittelsbach, Duchess of Bavaria, the Princess Sissi of the famous film trilogy, were found.

ALEXANDER

ALEXANDER

Alexander Kraler, son of the founders Franz and Daniela, has taken over the family business. Alexander Kraler, born in 1989, graduated in tourism marketing with a thesis on South Tyrol from "tourist destination to vital land." The master's degree in business administration in Germany in the luxury retail sector allows him to apply his skills within the family business. The systematic use of new technologies and managerial know-how enable him to lead the company to a digital transformation, projecting it into the 3.0 era.

The first store opens in Cortina

Completely different in concept, but perfectly identical in the mission of luxury pampering, the multibrand store opened in Cortina d'Ampezzo in August 2004 at Corso Italia 107. Furnished like the interior of a warm and welcoming Cortina villa, with natural materials and floors made of stone and wood recovered from barns and old abandoned shelters, it overlooks the piazza-living room of the most exclusive holiday destination in the Dolomites. Over the years, with its multiple setups, it has hosted unique and unforgettable events.

The renovation work, carried out with strict eco-sustainable criteria, began in April 2008. Daniela's input was clear: "I want the best, no half measures. Even the Capuchin friar should turn around in front of the store and say 'How beautiful!'" In a year and four months, architects Andrea and Luca Marastoni from Bolzano made the dream come true. "Thanks to the continuous evolution and drive to improve by the Kraler couple and the need to expand the sales spaces, a global intervention was necessary to double the area and equip the environments with the most sophisticated equipment, giving the boutique, spread over three floors for men's, women's, and children's collections, the utmost attention to customer well-being," say the creators of a restyling that has attracted the interest of the most important international fashion and design magazines.
