
In 1917 the tailoring master, Cristóbal Balenciaga, founded his eponymous brand, distorting the classic lines of women's clothing and redefining the concept of modernity and elegance. In 2015 Demna Gvasalia was appointed Creative Director of the Maison: faithful to the founder's vision, the Georgian designer enhances the innovative and revolutionary style of the Maison, pushing beyond the boundaries and experimenting with fabrics, innovative techniques and cuts. Today, the brand enjoys international fame for its contemporary silhouettes, in an "urban" and futuristic aesthetic, maintaining a balance between couture and experimentation, luxury and provocation. Among the iconic pieces of the maison, the Balenciaga Speed and Triple S sneakers have marked a real revolution in streetwear. The Balenciaga Cagole, City and Hourglass bags have become "it bags", a cult object in contemporary fashion. The strong lines and unmistakable character of its designs have once again made Balenciaga one of the most viral and loved brands on the fashion scene.
