Métissage by Franz Kraler in Cortina with Stella Jean and Carla Tolomeo
The luxury multibrand Franz Kraler participates in the second edition of Cortina Fashion WeekEnd, with an event dedicated to fashion, art, and design. The most exclusive pieces by the Italian-Caribbean designer Stella Jean were exhibited in an installation by Carla Tolomeo, the artist famous worldwide for her sculptural chairs. The renowned Kraler square was the stage for a musical performance by Smoma. The trumpet, guitar, and vocal trio performed international pop hits reinterpreted with glamour. Stella Jean's creations, born from unique cultural blends, infused with irony and bon ton, reflect her Creole heritage merging old world cultures with the verve of the new continent. The "destination of use" of some fabrics is revolutionized. Millennia-old techniques like fabric painting blend with avant-garde design. Opposites marry in a femininity conscious of its precious uniqueness. Carla Tolomeo has made the revolution of fabric use her artistic expression. Starting as a painter, she began creating sculptural chairs inspired by Japanese art, drawing from nature and sensitivity to animal and plant forms. Her chairs are unique and incredible pieces, imaginative and exuberant creations using materials and artisanal techniques. Stella Jean and Daniela Kraler created a Christmas tree for Cortina Fashion Weekend adorned with "Wax&Stripes" fabric decorations, emphasizing the syncretism between European tradition (Stripes) and African influences (Wax). The entire proceeds from the tree's sale were donated to the non-profit organization "Baby nel Cuore." "Métissage is not only artistic inspiration but a concrete project of solidarity!" - Daniela Kraler
