Franz Kraler: Cortina in virtual reality
On the occasion of the XIV edition of Cortinametraggio, Saturday, March 23, 2019, virtual reality was the protagonist of an event at Franz Kraler, the famous department store in Cortina D’Ampezzo on Corso Italia 119.
A truly special opportunity that allowed the public to experience a unique experience through the images created by West 46th Films by Alessandro Parrello. Thanks to the use of visors, people had the sensation of flying and being inside a real environment.
All made possible thanks to 3D virtual reality and 3D video mapping, demonstrating Cortinametraggio's attention to the latest technologies.
For the first time ever, it was possible to observe, as protagonists, the wonderful landscapes of Cortina D’Ampezzo, from Monte Cristallo to Passo delle Tre Croci, from the ski slopes of Tofane passing through Lake Misurina to the streets of the center, the heart of shopping, experiencing a unique and engaging sensory experience, all while remaining inside the Kraler boutique.
Weeks of work and filming with drones and equipment for subjective viewing allowed to tell a different story of Cortina compared to conventional documentary filmmaking. The viewer becomes a protagonist within the scene in a blend of technology, art, and storytelling.
