Yves Saint Laurent was one of the most influential designers of the Sixties, the first to develop the concept of luxury ready-to-wear, launching the 'Rive Gauche' line in 1966. His collections have been essential in the history of fashion, challenging the social conventions of the time, while maintaining the elegance of shapes and the refinement of taste. One of the most identifying and revolutionary creations of the brand is "Le Smoking", the first women's suit in the history of fashion, together with the iconic Mondrian dress, the cocktail dress inspired by the art of Piet Mondrian. In April 2016 Anthony Vaccarello was appointed Creative Director of the Maison: his collections are a tribute to the tailoring signature of Saint Laurent and the revolutionary spirit of its founder, all with a touch of modernity and sensuality. Faithful to tradition, Vaccarello dresses women with clothing considered for men: it is no coincidence that the recurring elements of the brand are maxi-shoulders, statement accessories and eccentric details.
